Our Fabrics

At sigá, we mindfully opt for natural fabrics in all our garments.

Natural fibers for clothing, such as linen, cotton, bamboo that we often use at sigá, are derived from sustainable plant or animal-based sources, making them a more environmentally friendly and ethical choice compared to synthetic fabrics. By choosing or prioritizing natural fibers, you contribute to the reduction of harmful environmental impacts associated with the production and disposal of synthetic materials. These natural fibers are biodegradable, allowing them to break down more easily in the environment compared to synthetic counterparts that can persist for extended periods. Additionally, the production of natural fibers typically involves fewer chemicals and energy-intensive processes, further reducing the ecological footprint.

Not only are these fibers kinder to the environment, but they also offer a range of benefits to you. They are well known to be breathable, absorbent, gentle on the skin, and naturally antimicrobial. On top of that, the fabrics we use are also OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified, meaning that they have been tested and proven free of harmful levels of toxic substances.

Making the conscious decision to choose clothing made from natural fibers offers greater comfort to you, and aligns with a more sustainable and ethical approach to fashion.

Care Guide
-
Our fabric has been pre-washed and pre-shrunk. However, to avoid further shrinkage, please use cold water (<30°C/86°F) and gentle cycle or hand wash when washing.

All dyed fabric will fade eventually, from washing and sun exposure. The color on our eco-dyed natural fabric tends to fade faster than synthetically dyed ones. Using gentle detergent, washing with like colors, drying in the shade, and using low heat when ironing can slow down the fading process.
